My enthusiasm has never waned even during the period of my life when I trained and worked in architectural practices (eventually ending up with my own practice). I remember each morning always having to scrub my nails clean to get rid of the grease and grime before starting work on the drawing board. Eventually I turned my architectural collar round and devoted all my time to creating my hobby into a business buying and selling MG car. (Look back to the early 1960's to see my adverts in "Motor Sport").
I work from home, which is situated in the heart of the Sussex countryside. I am married to Barbara and we have a daughter and son. I am a keen hill walker and wherever I am, be it on the Yorkshire Moors or remote parts of Scotland, I always keep a watchful eye out for any old bits of metal poking out of sheds and hope that, just possibly, it may be an old MG.
I travel throughout the UK and Europe, both delivering, buying and searching out MG's and still always feel excited when I find an unusual MG hidden away in some remote part of the World. Once, I tracked down a MG TC in India. It had a complete metal body frame with no wood, as termites would have eaten it!! The tyres had pictures of an Oxe's head, with the letters
A.D.V. on them, which stated they were for "Animal Drawn Vehicles" only, they had come straight off a cart!
I always have a stand at the Beaulie and Silverstone Auto Jumbles and whenever possible attend other large Classic Car Meetings in England and Europe.
